Glove box is the key equipment in laboratory and industrial production. It provides an inert environment without water and oxygen for sensitive materials. Because gloves are tools that come into direct contact with materials, they are subject to wear or corrosion during frequent use. To maintain the tightness of the glove box and the stability of the operating environment, it is essential to replace damaged gloves. The following is a detailed description of the glove box glove change process:
No matter what method is used to replace gloves in the glove box, prepare new gloves before changing gloves, close the circulation system of the glove box, and adjust the pressure inside the glove box to the range recommended by the supplier to keep the operating environment stable.
Here are two ways to change gloves:
Replacement method 1:
If there are two gloves A and B and gloves B need to be replaced, first transfer the special glove cover from the transition chamber of the glove box to the inside of the glove box.
Insert the glove handle A into the glove box and cover the glove opening B from the inside of the glove box with the glove cover.
When confirming that the glove cover is completely covered, tighten and fix it to ensure the sealing performance of the glove box.
At this time, remove the O seal ring of old glove B and take down the glove;
Put the thumb of the new glove upward and the reverse side outward, and put it into the mouth of gloves B to ensure it is smooth and free from wrinkle.
Secure the new glove to the glove opening B with the O-ring to ensure tightness.
Put the glove handle A into the glove box and remove the glove cover of glove opening B to complete the replacement of one glove.
Replacement method 2:
Keep the old gloves outside the glove box, and carefully remove the O-shaped sealing rings of the old gloves (usually two) to prepare for replacing new gloves.
Roll the cuff connected with the glove mouth outward until the first sealing ring stops.
Roll up the old glove from the finger and insert it into the glove mouth.
Roll the new glove outward from the finger, and insert the thumb of the glove upward into the glove mouth. At this time, ensure that the new glove covers the old glove.
Turn up the outer ring of the new glove and put it into the innermost ring of the glove mouth to ensure that it is smooth without wrinkle.
Pull up the outermost ring of the new glove, gently push the new glove by hand, squeeze and exhaust the air between the new and old glove interlayer as much as possible.
Fix the innermost ring of the new glove with a sealing ring, and then remove the old glove.
When old gloves are taken out, new gloves have been fixed with sealing rings and are very stable. At this time, the second sealing ring can be installed, i.e. the replacement of one glove is completed.
Use the monitoring equipment in the glove box to check the oxygen content of water after changing gloves in the glove box.If the content is less than 200ppm, it indicates that the environment in the glove box is well controlled. Only restart the circulation system to make the water and oxygen content in the glove box reach the lower standard meeting the test conditions.
Care should also be taken when changing the glove box. The glove box should always be kept clean and sterile throughout the replacement process to avoid any possible contamination. If you are unfamiliar with the replacement process, be sure to consult the manufacturer or professional technicians to ensure correct operation. Strictly follow all safety regulations to ensure the safety of operators.
By following the detailed course above, you can ensure that the glove replacement process of the glove box is efficient and safe, so as to maintain the performance of the glove box and ensure the accuracy and reliability of the experiment or production process.
