Why use a glove box:

During the experimental process, some chemical reactions can rapidly oxidize or react with moisture in the air, resulting in inaccurate or failed experimental results. The glove box provides an inert gas environment without water or oxygen, which can eliminate these interfering factors and ensure that the experiment is conducted under ideal conditions. In addition, the design of the glove box allows researchers to directly manipulate the substances inside the glove box through the built-in gloves without opening the glove box, which can prevent the invasion of external gases and maintain a stable environment inside the glove box. For experiments that require precise control of reaction conditions, such as the preparation of semiconductor materials, processing of certain metals, synthesis of sensitive drugs, etc., glove boxes are an indispensable tool.

The glove box is like a special "space capsule", its main function is to provide a water free and oxygen free protective environment for experimental materials that are prone to deterioration or reaction in ordinary air environments.

Material of glove box:

Glove boxes are usually made of high-quality stainless steel for the main body to ensure good corrosion resistance and structural stability.

The window of the glove box is usually made of tempered glass, which has extremely high strength and safety. Even when subjected to impact, it can maintain its structural integrity, ensuring the continuity and safety of the experiment. In addition, tempered glass also has good transparency, allowing operators to clearly observe the experimental process inside the glove box, which is crucial for precise control of experimental conditions and timely observation of experimental changes.

Material of glove box gloves:

A standard glove box usually comes with 2 gloves (the number of gloves can be customized), which are key components for laboratory personnel to interact with the environment inside the glove box, so their material selection is crucial. Butyl rubber is widely used due to its excellent airtightness and chemical stability. This material can effectively prevent the penetration of oxygen and moisture, ensuring the purity of the environment inside the glove box. In addition, butyl rubber also has good chemical corrosion resistance, which can resist the erosion of various chemicals. Butyl rubber gloves not only have good sealing performance, but also provide sufficient flexibility, making experimental operations more convenient.

Transition compartment of glove box:

The transition chamber design of the glove box is to ensure that the inert gas environment inside the glove box is not damaged during the transfer of experimental materials. When items need to be taken out or placed in the glove box, a transition chamber is usually used. When placing items, the items are first placed in the transition chamber, and then a series of vacuum and gas filling processes are carried out to remove the air in the transition chamber and replace it with inert gas (such as nitrogen or argon). This process needs to be repeated at least 3 times to ensure that the atmosphere inside the glove box transition chamber is consistent with the atmosphere inside the glove box. After completing this process, the items can be safely moved into the main box of the glove box.

When taking out items from the glove box, it is necessary to first perform three refilling operations on the glove box transition compartment, and then place the items that need to be removed into the transition compartment for transfer.
