Circulating purification system for glove box:
The circulation system of the glove box is recommended to be kept on unless there are special circumstances. If the glove box needs to be cleaned or regenerated, the glove box circulation should be turned off. The maintenance of a water free and oxygen free atmosphere in the glove box is achieved through the glove box circulation purification system.
After the glove box fan is started, the gas inside the glove box enters the circulation pipeline through the filter, and then enters the purification column. After passing through the fan and filter, it returns to the glove box, completing the closed circulation process.
The purification system of the glove box maintains a high-purity inert gas environment inside the glove box through an automated cycle process. The components of the purification system include gas filtration devices (molecular sieve for water removal, copper catalyst for oxygen removal, activated carbon for organic solvent removal, filter dust removal, etc.), circulating fans, PLC control systems, water oxygen analyzers, and exhaust and air supply systems.
The purification column is equipped with molecular sieves (for adsorbing water) and copper catalysts (for adsorbing oxygen). When passing through the purification column, water in the gas is adsorbed by molecular sieves, and oxygen is adsorbed by copper catalysts.
Adsorption of water: The tiny pores (micrometer level) of molecular sieves adsorb water molecules, which is a physical adsorption process.
Oxygen adsorption: Copper catalyst adsorbs oxygen, which is a chemical reaction between copper in the copper catalyst and oxygen to produce copper oxide.
During the cycling process, the PLC control system monitors the environmental status inside the glove box in real time, and monitors the concentration of oxygen and moisture through a water oxygen analyzer. Once the water oxygen concentration exceeds the preset threshold, the PLC system will automatically replenish working gas to reduce the concentration of water oxygen in the glove box.
Other accessories of glove box:
Load bearing frame: used to support and store items inside the glove box, usually made of stainless steel, with good corrosion resistance and load-bearing capacity. They can be built-in fixed shelves or adjustable designs to accommodate items of different sizes and weights.
Support frame: used to stabilize the structure of the glove box, ensuring that the glove box is stably placed on the workbench.
Lighting: The glove box is usually equipped with an LED lighting system inside to provide sufficient light for operation. These lighting devices are usually installed above the windows inside the glove box, providing uniform and bright light, allowing operators to clearly see the experimental process inside the box.
External interface: The external interface of the glove box is used to connect external devices such as gas pipelines, power supplies, and analytical instruments. These interfaces are typically designed with good sealing performance to ensure that the gas environment inside the glove box is not damaged when connecting external devices.
These accessories together form the complete system of the glove box, enabling safe and efficient handling of sensitive materials and experimental operations.
