FAQ

  • Q What role does 3D printing glove box play in the metal 3D printing process?

A 3D printed glove boxes play a crucial role in the metal 3D printing process. It provides a safe working environment for metal 3D printing and can effectively solve many problems in the 3D printing process. For example, it can provide a pure working atmosphere environment, forming a closed loop with multi-stage dust collection devices and circulation devices. Argon gas circulates in the closed loop, making the water and oxygen content in the system reach the target of less than 1PPM, achieving an ultra-high purity working atmosphere environment and reducing the adverse effects of oxygen on metal printing processes such as titanium alloys, such as oxygen embrittlement.
  • Q What is the reason for the low working air pressure in the glove box?

    A
The low working gas pressure of the glove box may be caused by the following gas supply issues:
    1. Insufficient gas source, which may be caused by insufficient gas remaining in the gas cylinder or loose connection of the supply pipeline leading to leakage;
    2. Malfunction of gas flow control valve, such as valve blockage or damaged valve core, resulting in a decrease in gas flow.
To solve these problems, it is necessary to check the pressure of the gas cylinder, the sealing condition of the pipeline interface, and the working status of the flow control valve, and carry out corresponding replacement or maintenance.
  • Q When does the glove box need to change gas (glove box cleaning)?

    A
The glove box needs gas replacement or glove box cleaning in the following situations:
    1. If special experiments or operations are carried out inside the glove box, resulting in severe contamination of the working gas, such as the introduction of a large amount of volatile organic compounds, toxic and harmful gases, etc., and these pollutants cannot be effectively removed by the purification system, gas replacement is required.
    2. After maintaining the gas circulation system or purification system of the glove box, if the purification material is replaced, the circulation fan is repaired, etc., but the water and oxygen content still cannot be reduced to a lower standard, it may be necessary to replace the working gas.
    3. If there is a serious leakage fault in the glove box and a large amount of external air enters, the gas also needs to be replaced.
  • Q Does the working gas inside the glove box need to be changed frequently?

A The working gas inside the glove box usually does not need to be replaced frequently under normal circumstances, which means that the glove box does not need to be cleaned frequently. If the sealing of the glove box is good, the gas circulation system and purification system can work normally, and the working gas (such as inert gas nitrogen or argon) can be circulated inside the box. The gas circulation system will continuously make the gas flow inside the box and pass through the purification system to remove oxygen, moisture, and other impurities, thereby maintaining the stability of the environment inside the box. For example, when a high-quality glove box is used for lithium battery material research, as long as its gas purification system continues to operate effectively and the working gas can be maintained within a suitable purity range for a long time to meet experimental requirements, there is no need to replace the gas inside the glove box.
  • Q Will the malfunction of the glove box gas circulation and purification system lead to an increase in gas consumption?

A Malfunctions in the gas circulation and purification system can lead to an increase in the gas consumption of the glove box. When the circulating fan is abnormal, motor failure, impeller damage or unstable speed will reduce the gas circulation efficiency, and impurities in the box cannot be treated in a timely manner. To ensure that the environment meets the requirements, the system will supplement more working gas; Blockage or leakage in the circulation pipeline can hinder the normal circulation of gas, causing gas in some areas to be unable to renew and impurities to accumulate. Leakage can directly lead to gas loss, requiring more gas to maintain the environment; The failure of purification materials, such as molecular sieve adsorption saturation and copper catalyst failure, cannot effectively purify gases. As a result, the water and oxygen content in the glove box increases, and the system will increase the supply of working gas to maintain the ideal environment.
  • Q Is there a relationship between increased gas consumption and sealing of glove boxes?

A The increase in gas consumption of glove boxes is related to their sealing performance, and problems with the sealing of glove box equipment can lead to an increase in gas consumption. When there are small holes, cracks, or aging wear on the gloves, external air enters, and the system will replenish more working gas to maintain the indoor environment; If the sealing gaskets around the interface between the gloves and the box, the transition chamber door, and the pipeline interface are aged, damaged, or not installed properly, gas leakage will cause a decrease in pressure inside the box, and the gas supply system will increase the gas supply; If there are leakage problems such as welding cracks or small pores in the material of the box itself, it will also cause gas loss, leading to the system replenishing more gas to maintain pressure balance.
  • Q What are the safety hazards of sudden increase in gas consumption in glove boxes?(2)

A An increase in the gas consumption of the glove box may cause abnormal pressure changes inside the box, causing pressure on the box structure, which may lead to deformation or rupture of the box, or allow a large amount of external air to enter, damaging the pure experimental environment. In addition, the gas composition may change, affecting experiments that are sensitive to oxygen and moisture. The purification system may become overloaded due to an increase in gas consumption, making it difficult to remove impurities from the newly replenished gas in a timely manner, resulting in a decrease in the purification effect inside the glove box and affecting the experimental results.
  • Q What are the safety hazards of sudden increase in gas consumption in glove boxes?(1)

A Sudden increase in gas consumption in the glove box may cause abnormal gas source pressure. If the output pressure of the gas source cannot meet the demand, it may lead to insufficient gas supply or high pressure, affecting the working environment inside the glove box, and even damaging sensitive equipment or causing glove breakage. At the same time, the risk of gas leakage increases. Due to the increase in workload, it may lead to increased wear and tear of the sealing gasket at the pipeline interface, causing gas leakage. If inert gas is leaked, it may cause suffocation of operators, and flammable and explosive gases may pose a more serious danger.
