Michaelina | First batch of entry into Dongguan New Materials Industrial Park, accelerating the key process of solid-state batteries

On January 26th, the Dongguan New Materials Industrial Park, adjacent to the first phase of the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, opened. This is the first Dongguan New Materials Industrial Park established by the Dongguan Science and Technology Bureau, which will create a core area for the new energy materials industry in Dongguan, a center for innovation in the new energy materials industry in the Greater Bay Area, and a source of technology. On that day, two brand new white factories in the park welcomed the first batch of 7 settled enterprises.

The Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory with Lingnan architectural style is in front, and not far away is the Dongguan New Materials Industrial Park, which opened today.

Wang Weihua, academician of the CAS Member and director of the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, Huang Xuejie, deputy director of the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, Wang Jianxin, vice chairman of the China Battery Industry Association, Zhuo Qing, director of the Dongguan Science and Technology Bureau, relevant principals of Dalang Town People's Congress, Songshan Lake Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, Michaelina (Shanghai) Industrial Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., and Dalang Town Pingshan Community attended the event and unveiled the industrial park.

At the opening ceremony, Huang Xuejie stated that Dongguan New Materials Industrial Park will rely on major scientific research platforms such as the Spallation Neutron Source and the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, as well as innovative resources from the Energy Materials and Device Innovation Factory's director unit, targeting the areas where Dongguan's industrial chain is weak. Around the three major fields of new energy materials, electronic information materials, and material preparation, a group of well-known domestic enterprises will be organized to settle and carry out pilot research and development, and a group of innovative enterprises recognized by the market will be introduced for industrialization.

"This is an exploration of a model, and we need to first make practical results in one direction before promoting it in other fields and regions," said Huang Xuejie. As a member of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, he also proposed the construction of the Songshan Lake "New Energy Materials and Application Technology Innovation Community" at this year's two sessions. The Dongguan New Materials Industrial Park is open to research and development enterprises nationwide and even globally. "We highly recognize the 'industry integration, technology integration' technological innovation model established by Dongguan New Materials Industrial Park based on the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, and the service policies here are grounded and talent is concentrated. Entering the park will accelerate the industrialization process of our research and development projects." Wan Xinjun, the chairman and general manager of the settled enterprise, said that Michaelina will establish a 3500 square meter experimental platform in the new park around the key process of solid-state batteries, open experiments for free to scientific researchers nationwide, and carry out technical cooperation and sharing.

Michalina started collaborating with the Energy Materials and Device Innovation Factory in June last year. In just six months, the company completed three research projects on high-end intelligent equipment testing production lines for solid-state batteries and received some orders for solid-state battery testing lines. "This year and next, we will complete 8 research and development projects and corresponding pilot line research and development in Dongguan New Materials Industrial Park. Afterwards, we plan to layout our fourth factory - a high-end intelligent equipment factory focused on lithium batteries - in Dongguan." Wan Xinjun confidently told reporters that he expects the lithium battery business to be the strongest driving force for the company's future profit growth.
